What People Are Saying

“Nona suggested using the technique of “box breathing” when I was struggling with stress, wanting to zip through McDonald’s for Ice cream.   The counting of my breath helped to recenter me, to drive past the drive-through.  It never occurred to me that I could use something as simple as breathwork to overcome my urges for ice cream.   This was very powerful for me… because I cherish every easy breath I take. . . . I now understand that if I come back to my breath, I can re-center and rally my emotions; rather than react. . . . Nona has been a blessing to me and I have a heart of gratitude for her.”

“I am incredibly grateful for Nona, my Nurse Coach. She has been an unwavering source of support and guidance in my life. Nona's guidance has extended beyond just physical health; she's helped me navigate the intricacies of my spiritual journey, my life's purpose, and how to respond to moments of stress with grace and resilience. Her wisdom and compassionate presence have been a true blessing, and I can't thank her enough for the positive impact she's had on my life. I'm so fortunate to have her by my side.”

“I have enjoyed learning both mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Learning how to calm, redirect, and motivate myself has been empowering. I still have a lot of work to do, however, I love the techniques that Nona introduced me to.

Nona was easy to talk to too and confide in. She was always friendly,  positive, and willing to share and teach new techniques that she was learning in another class. Nona kept things realistic and goals obtainable. Her positive influence and mindfulness/coping techniques and skills will stay with me and will be used during my own practice. Thank you Nona for your time, patience, and knowledge.”

“Before I started working with Nona, I was reeling after a period of profound personal and professional loss. I had been laid-off for the first time in my 27 years of being a nurse, and shortly after that had a painful, unexpected loss of a relationship. . . I felt like a shell of my former self. I had tried traditional counseling but felt it did not help much.

She [Nona] drove right to the heart of my pain and helped me process it with less traditional techniques. . . She taught me breathing techniques, body tapping techniques, and grounding techniques. I began to meditate and employ her tactics and techniques. I grieved and opened my heart back up. Each session, she would offer a new tool, including a tarot card reading.

While life is not perfect, and my grieving process is not linear, Nona’s guidance and techniques helped me much more than traditional counseling or talk therapy. I have tools to fall back on and ways to help myself. I don’t feel so alone or lost.

Nona is a professional, and a true Southern Lady. Her personality is larger than life, eclectic, elegant, groovy, and spunky. Coming to see her in this process was a relief. . . like a glass of tea on a porch in a rocking chair. She is welcoming, kind, loving, and firm. She seemed to know intuitively what I needed, and I felt very safe.

It was a relief for Nona to bring me some non-traditional solutions. It was like meeting with an old friend who has a background in magic. the oracle in the house at the end of the street.”

“I was in the middle of a rather stressful time at work with recent cutbacks in staff. I was trying to decide whether to turn in my retirement notice so I could spend more time with my family, especially my granddaughter. I was also about to begin a major remodel with my house. The coaching sessions helped me step back, take a deep breath (often literally), and helped me prioritize some of my goals.

I loved how open and accessible you were, how you respected my needs and made it clear that I could share as little or as much as I wanted. Your manner made me feel relaxed and affirmed.

Though I have neither retired nor finished my remodel job, I do feel more relaxed about it and less anxious about making decisions.  I am using deep breathing more as a centering technique. I’m not journaling but am interested in it and hope to start sometime. I enjoyed focusing on my own mental health and goals for a change and would like to continue to carve out some time for myself.”

“I was inspired by watching Nona's transformation over the past few years, and I wanted to implement some of the tools she had been using to improve her health and well-being.

I initially set some goals with Nona that although I am not consistently meeting [with Nona], the setting of these goals led to making some subtle but necessary changes.

After a few sessions with Nona, I was surprised to discover that what I really needed were tools to help me manage the anxiety and situational depression I've been experiencing.  Using these techniques, I've been able to get closer to the goals I originally set and have been better able to work through my emotions surrounding the situations that trigger my anxiety and depression.

I would recommend Nona's sessions to anyone who needs a little motivation, help with self-examination, and anyone who wants to manage their anxiety in a healthy and meaningful way”

“I can highly recommend Nona! She’s warm, compassionate, and pragmatic. As a physician, her healthcare knowledge helped me analyze some aspects of my work-life balance that were helpful. She is open and easy to talk to, never forcing the conversation but listening carefully to help guide the conversation in a healthy and helpful way.”
